Abstract: These days, it is unthinkable to live without the internet. The Internet has developed into an innovation that offers all the knowledge one could require in the last 20 years. Social media use is become a fundamental aspect of youth culture. Youth are dependent on social media to such an extent that they are unable to keep their hands off their devices. Face-to-face interactions are affected by the advent of social media networking sites. Excessive use of social media has both negative and positive effects on youth. Based on the available literature, this paper suggests that social media use has both positive and negative effects on youth.
