Breaking Barriers: Challenges and Opportunities for Women in Leadership Roles: A Review

Abstract: Despite progress in gender equality, women remain underrepresented in leadership roles across sectors. This paper examines the multifaceted challenges women face, such as gender stereotypes, workplace discrimination, and societal expectations, alongside the opportunities that arise from diversity initiatives, technological advancements, and supportive networks. Strategies to overcome barriers, including mentorship, inclusive practices, and work-life balance support, are discussed. The study highlights the importance of fostering gender-balanced leadership for innovation and equity. Case studies of successful women leaders further illustrate the transformative potential of inclusive leadership.
