Abstract: Sujata Gidla’s book Ants Among Elephants: An Untouchable Family and Making of Modern India deals with the very horrible picture of casteism, crooked politics and the dangers of dark emerging culture in post-modern independent India. The book is in the form of family memoir of Sujata Gidla. In the year 1990, Sujata Gidla migrated to America by possessing the stains of oppressive burden of untouchability, segregation and blind traditional culture of India. She understood that in the very remote land of America, her soul liberates from the political, traditional and cultural burden in India. The story focuses on the struggle of her uncle Satyam to find his own identity in India. The researcher tries to disclose the communist ideology of Satyam and the politics of post independent India and its degrading effects on the mind and mentality of people having high morals.
