Abstract: Scriptwriting is a creative discipline that provides literature students with an avenue to reinterpret and engage with literary texts in imaginative ways. This paper examines the integration of scriptwriting into literature studies, focusing on its historical development, pedagogical benefits, and its potential to foster critical and creative skills. The article discusses how scriptwriting assignments enable students to adapt classical and modern literary works into scripts, blending analytical rigor with artistic expression. Through case studies and examples, it highlights how this practice deepens students’ understanding of narrative structures, character development, and thematic exploration. Challenges, such as maintaining a balance between originality and textual fidelity, are addressed alongside strategies to overcome them. Ultimately, this research underscores scriptwriting’s value in literature education and its role in preparing students for interdisciplinary careers in creative industries.
