Abstract: The emergence of technology has profoundly impacted many industries, including banking. Urban areas have seen the biggest movement from traditional to online banking, but rural communities are also embracing digital financial services, albeit more slowly. This study examines the use of e-banking services by rural clients in Haryana, India. Using primary and secondary data, the study seeks to comprehend this demographic's awareness, uptake, and use of e-banking services. 470 e-banking users were given a self-structured questionnaire, and 418 of them provided legitimate answers. According to the research, although a significant percentage of rural consumers check their account balances, transfer money, and take out cash, they are less likely to use services like online shopping, e-ticketing, and application form downloads. The demographic research reveals a wide range of age, educational, and occupational categories, with a significant number of self-employed people. E-banking has a lot of promise to improve financial inclusion and lessen dependency on physical bank branches in rural areas, despite obstacles such poor internet connectivity, cybersecurity issues, and cultural preferences for traditional banking. In order to increase the uptake of e-banking services in rural areas, the study highlights the necessity of ongoing initiatives to close the digital gap, advance financial literacy, and address security concerns. Future studies should examine adoption hurdles in greater detail and assess how well digital literacy programs are working.
