Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients: Regulatory Challenges in the Developing Countries

Abstract: API Producing APIs that are both affordable and meet the highest standards of quality while having the least adverse environmental effects. After reacting to the COVID-19 pandemic, the pharmaceutical industry has to deal with a new situation around the world in 2023. It is vital to reconsider the pharmaceutical industry's production and market in accordance with this new reality. The production of APIs is unexplored in developing nations, which also face health risks from importing APIs from abroad to maintain the sustainability of domestic pharmaceutical services and production. Significant investments are needed to support the API Manufacturing sector's growth. This article provides a critical examination of the strategic and regulatory position of Brazil's national production and/or acquisition of APIs, which are essential building blocks for the pharmaceutical industry.
